RedBubble.com is a scam company that lure artists into making a profile on their site, and upload their work in hope of selling it and make money. This is what RedBubble promises all over their website. "Upload your art and sell it as T-Shirts or photo prints, and make a lot of money".
What they don't tell you, is that they steal your art, delete your profile but keep selling your art so THEY can make money, NOT you. You will only get paid for the very few first sales, till they find out that your designs are popular.
When they discover that your art is selling, they steal it and cut you off.

Sounds unlikely, I know, that's why I tried them even though they have a LOT of bad reviews all over the internet.

About a month ago, I started a RedBubble account. I uploaded my designs and they actually started selling pretty fast. ..What a great way to make money I thought, and started making more designs. After I made about $700 my account mysteriously vanished without a trace, and with no reason given by RedBubble. My designs were however still for sale on their site. They didn't pay me the money I had earned, and they didn't answer any e-mails. E-mailing is the only way of communicating with RedBubble. No phone number, no address, no company info, nothing.

I tried posting the problem at their support board, but they simple deleted my posts as soon they discovered them.

I thought it was a server error or something, since I had not violated any of their terms of service, and why would a respectable company just delete an artists account out of the blue?? That would not make sense at all, especially when they make money too, whenever a design is sold.

So I didn't stop contacting them.

Correspondence with RedBubble (Which took 14 days)

I made a post on there support board, asking politely why my profile all of a sudden was gone, and when I could expect it to be up and running again.
-RedBubble deleted my question with no answer

I asked again (since I thought it was an error, that my post had mysteriously disappeared)
-RedBubble deleted my question with no answer

I asked for the 3rd time, and mentioned that I had unpaid earnings on my account.
(This time I kept an eye on the post, and noticed, that as soon as a guy named Rob started commenting on other issues, my post magically disappeared) He commented on questions like, "Where do I change the T-Shirt size"? and such, but all the critical questions about there billing and missing art, just disappeared from the board.
-RedBubble deleted my question with no answer

I made a 4th post, asking them to start taking some action on getting my account back, and that I would like to know why it was gone in the first place. I also stated that the problems wouldn't go away, just by deleting the posts.
-RedBubble deleted my question with no answer

I made a long post, explaining to them that I had unpaid earnings on my account, and that they had to start looking into it and not just delete my posts. I explained that I had put a lot of work into it, and that I would understand if it was some technical glitch, but I would really like my profile back, and I would also like to know when I would get the money that I had earned.
-RedBubble set my post to be "private" (so no one else could see it)

Nothing happened for 2 days
-Rob from RedBubble set the status to "Resolved", but didn't answer it?!?.

My account was still gone, so I set the post back to "Open", and ask why he had set it to "resolved" when it was in fact NOT resolved. Plus I had still not gotten any answer about my money.
-Rob from RedBubble set the status to "Resolved" again, without answering or doing anything at all.

As expected, my account was still missing, so I set the post back to "Open", and asked again, why he was setting it to resolved, when nothing was resolved.
Nothing happened for 2 days, then....
-RedBubble just deleted my question again zzzzzzzzz....

But, I finally got an e-mail from RedBubble, saying that they would get back to me in 2 business days.

..Finally! (I thought) Someone would take a look at the problem, so I could get my account up and running again, or at least get the money I had earned.

3 days later I receive this mail from RedBubble

Copy of RedBubble's e-mail:

Subject: My account (tore999) has been suspended???????????????????????????????????????
Hello Tore,
Thanks for getting in touch. Is it possible that you inadvertently [deleted](http://support.redbubble.com/kb/advanced/closing-your-account) your account or that someone with access to it did?
I did also note that you have another account that is [currently active](http://www.redbubble.com/people/mayhem-7).
Kind regards,
Thomas

My reply:

Hi Thomas,
I can't see the messages you link to, as I can't log in with that account anymore. It's completely locked, so I can't see the answer unless you mail it to me.

I'm 100% sure I didn't delete my account. 100%.. I have been no where near. Anyway, I would really like to get it back as soon as possible.
I have put so much work into it, and I still have unpaid earnings there.

The other account "mayhem-7" was just an account I started up while waiting for my other account to be "un"-suspended again.

I hope you guys can do something quick, cause it really doesn't look good on the website that I just launched and advertised, that it links to an error page. The timing for this suspension could really not be any worse.

Best regards,
Tore

-RedBubble never replied.

A few days later I made another post on their board, asking them to at least try to act professional, and tell me what was going on, instead of just deleting my posts. I made clear that I would like to get my money SOON.
-RedBubble deleted my question with no answer

I made a final post, saying that I wouldn't go away, just because they deleted my posts. I made it clear that I didn't care about the profile or their site anymore, but that I insisted on getting the money they owed me.
-RedBubble deleted my question with no answer, yet again

But I got another e-mail from them.

Copy of RedBubble's e-mail:

From: RedBubble Objections Team
Subject: suspended account (account name: tore999)

Hi Tore,
Apologies for the delay in getting back to you on this one.

On the 9th September your account tore999 was closed by RedBubble for deliberate misuse.  A copy of the email sent appears below.  When an account is closed for deliberate misuse we ask that you not open any further accounts on RedBubble, therefore we have today also closed your mayhem-7 account.

Your account details have been forwarded to our accounts department who will finalise any outstanding sales in the next pay period.

Regards
The RedBubble Objections Team

Hello Tore,

Today we have taken the decision to close your RedBubble account for

deliberate misuse of RedBubble. Deliberate misuse of RedBubble is
defined as follows: When a person or entity opens an account with the
primary purpose of infringing the RedBubble Community Guidelines or is
found to be otherwise using the account for purposes RedBubble was not
designed for. We expect members to conduct themselves within the
community guidelines and to report any more serious issues to us so we
can follow them up directly.

Examples of deliberate misuse include but are not limited to the following:

• Using RedBubble to sell cheap mass produced art reproductions
• Using RedBubble to host links to or advertise products that are
either illegal or otherwise unsuitable for Redbubble eg: Viagra
• Opening an account which is used primarily to harass or intimidate
other artists, disrupt discussions or to cause conflict and bad
feeling within the community
• Operating an account whose sole purpose is to engage in unacceptable
behavior as defined by our Community Guidelines.

The consequence is immediate account closure. We ask that you do not

open any new accounts on RedBubble in future. Any other accounts found
to be owned or operated by you will be closed immediately.

Regards,
The RedBubble Support Team

OK, so now all of a sudden, they tell me that THEY deleted my account on purpose. Why in the world would they ask me, if I deleted it myself on accident then?!?. And now they also claim that I was misusing it?!???

I would really like to know what that "deliberate misuse" would be, but for some reason RedBubble "forgot" to put that info in their e-mail, so that will remain unknown. I uploaded some designs and sold them. Just like it says on their site, that you are supposed to do!! How in the world is that "deliberate misuse"? ..What a pathetic excuse to come up with. A flat out lie, to cover up whatever went wrong on their side.

Here is what I think:
Either, RedBubble had a mysterious server glitch that erased my account, which RedBubble for some reason will not admit.
or..
After seeing that my designs made sales, RedBubble decided to steal them so they could keep all profit them selves.

I didn't even bother replying to their e-mail. I don't think RedBubble deserves any more of my time. Well, except for the time I now use to create this blog, so other artists can be warned about RedBubble.

RedBubble is a scam, nothing more. Don't ever upload your designs to them. They steal it and cut you off.

Update: RedBubble actually did pay the outstanding amount, finally. They also finally deleted my designs, so they no longer sell them on their site.
Still, it's incredible it took that much, for something that simple.

I now have all my designs at SpreadShirt instead. They are a legit company, and I have not had any problems so far. I can definitely recommend them.

    1. I once tried using it since a lot of people do so... So I made an acc and just tried it out and all. It worked for only A DAY. Although I haven't filled out the payment information yet. The next day my acc suddenly got locked out and when I tried logging in, it won't work. It didn't say that it was suspended, it just said that it was an invalid username. Then I tried making new ones and when I just finished filling out the form, it said it was suspended. Now, I didn't understand then so I tried making a new one and the results were THE SAME. I didn't even sell anything AT ALL.

  2. Thanks KCale. :) Actually, because of that sentence they use in there User Agreement, legally RedBubble can steal all they want from anyone uploading to them. Most people just don't read it, or like me, think that can't be right. ..I'm just glad it seems that I will finally get the money I made till they suspended my account. ..And glad I can help warn others people about them.

    1. Wrong. copyright policy on RB is normal in relation to this type of selling site. It is stated very clearly that Artists own their copyright. Artists grant RB a nonexclusive and limited license to print, display and distribute the artists work. This license comes into effect as soon as you upload something to RB. READ THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS DUDE. This hating on something you clearly dont understand is a reflection on you, not RB.

      Delete
    2. OK, so because RedBubble's Terms are normal to you, then it's OK for RedBubble to delete peoples accounts with no other reason than: "oh, that must have been an error". And keep unpaid earnings, until receiving complain for weeks? Really? That's totally fine "dude"?
It might be where you are from, but it's not here in the US. And FYI, this is not a reflection. This is just a warning to other artists, who don't think it's "fine dude" to get their art stolen.

  3. Thanks for posting this. RB has sold work from members who have left the site and from members who have made their work not available for sale. This is happening more and more often. I know so many people who have had their accounts deleted or who have been banned from RB for voicing their concerns about the Nazi tees, the serial killer baby tees, the pornographic work on baby clothes. Their list of bad judgements grows longer and longer. And if you try to bring it to other members attention - you get suspended........ more people need to know about this.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Couldn't agree more. RedBubble is a low moral-less company that makes money by selling other peoples art. Any critic of their theft, or there kids-cloths with Nazi and pornographic images, are completely ignored.

  6. Incredible.. Exactly what they did to me too. As soon as they see that your designs are selling, they delete your account and sell your designs (which they keep) themselves. ..Yes, I finally got the money they owed me. First I got half of it, when I complained I got the rest.

  8. Hi Dale.
What I did to get my money back, was to keep writing complaints at their forum
    Link: http://support.redbubble.com/discussions/problems#new_topic_form
Even though they constantly delete your messages instead of answering them, but keep doing it, and show them that you are not going to go away, and let them know that you are going to contact the police, if you don't get your money.

It's very silly, but apparently the only way to get the money you earned.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Thank you very much, what context did you use to threaten to use the police considering redbubble headquarters is half way across the world? Also did redbubble tell you that they were going to pay you before they did?

    ReplyDelete
  10. Yes, after my MANY posts at their forum, they sent me the 2nd mail, where you can read that they say they were going to pay me for what I earned up till they deleted my account. They have a smaller office near San Francisco, at: 555 Bryant Street, #900. Palo Alto, CA 94301 USA.
I live in Corona south of Los Angeles, so I wrote I would stop by if I didn't get it soon. That helped.

The problem with PR mistakes is that it doesn’t really matter whether the subsequent outrage is justified or not.

When online retail portal RedBubble started getting complaints over its stocking of ‘Hipster Hitler’ t-shirts, it took a firm line that freedom of expression should be protected. Vocal opponents claimed that the merchandise glorified Hitler and made light of his crimes.

RedBubble finally relented and pulled the t-shirts, but not before six tortuous months of negative headlines and customer fury. If you are faced with a customer backlash, act quickly, whether they are in the right or not."

Maybe you should learn about the history of WW2 & what actually happened. Just imagine....that there was a present day dictator, a person who will lock you up & killed you because he doesn't like the way you think, & he wanted to lock up all the company stooges posing as artists, you know? like YOU. How would you feel if you were standing in front of a firing squad with a freshly dug mass grave already filled with corporate yes men like you. If you spent as much time reading about history as you do corporate legal jargon designed to legally steal creations from others, then you might realize what a total asshole you are. You might also have the intelligence to understand about the actual horrors that occurred to MILLIONS of people by total whack job like your friend Adolf. I do however respect the rights of assholes like you & agree that protecting even asinine points of view like yours, means that I won't get rounded up by the Gestapo & thrown in a gas chamber for expressing mine.

  23. My boyfriend's brother sent him a Redbubble gift voucher for his birthday and he got some really cool shirts, so I decided to buy some myself a few months later. The experience was breathtakingly horrible. For starters, they quoted a certain price the whole way along and then when I went to check out, bam! Suddenly all the prices had gone up, with GST listed on top of the already higher prices (Last time I checked, Australian law says you must list GST as part of the price). Annoyed, but with my heart set on those shirts, I decided to go through with the purchase anyway. They charged my card twice for the purchase, and after several days I hadn't received any emails regarding my purchase, whereas the other online purchases I had made the same day had already shipped (and kept me updated the whole time).

I sent them an email outlining all my concerns, and pointing them to the numerous laws they were breaking in regards to misleading pricing. The response I received, about four days later, basically said, "Be patient, we'll send you details when we've shipped, and it's normal for us to double charge cards but the other amount will be refunded so no big deal" and told me that I had been looking at USD instead of AUD. I had sent them screenshots of three different prices, all with "AUD" clearly marked. And the $200 they had just decided to take out of my account for six days could have been needed to pay bills or buy food.

At the end of the email there was a disclaimer stating that the email was "PRIVATE CORRESPONDENCE" and not to be shared with anyone else. How's that for honesty and transparency?

I thought about replying to the email but it was just such a ridiculously bad response to several serious complaints that I realised there was no point, they were just going to continue being incredibly shady. Still meaning to write up a blog post about the whole thing and screen cap the hell out of the email I received and name and shame the jerk who sent it.

What do you think could possibly be the maybe bad thing or things you did wrong? What kind of art did you upload? Was it pop culture references? Did you manipulate per-existing photos?

I had a serious issue with Zazzle myself, they seem to have little to no understanding of fair use, and derivative works what so ever. I got a few images uploaded and after a few image rejections what they did allow me to list began to sell, the first sale was thrown out and the poster was never printed, they refunded the money and told me the poster printing company they use had issued a second level rejection of my work.

So come clean dude, what did you do? Show us the images you uploaded so we can see what they had a problem with.

what about this? http://www.redbubble.com/people/shantyshawn/works/5146553-happy-brains?body_color=white&p=kids-clothes&print_location=front&size=3-6m&style=shortsleeve_one_piece would you love your baby to be wearing that! And this is just scratching the surface! And those are all for sale as baby wear. So do you consider that appropriate?

As for RB being a respectable site, you just need to read the comments at http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/redbubble.com (Alexa.com) then compare RB to FAA or 500px and you will see that they are way at the bottom of the table. RB's figures are dropping all the time, but 500px's keeps in increasing.

I wonder if you have read any of these articles. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/victoria/hitler-bin-laden-and-milat-baby-clothes-on-sale-in-melbourne/story-fn7x8me2-1226073321021 or http://extranetevolution.com/2011/06/aconex-chairman-in-hitler-t-shirt-row/ or http://www.theage.com.au/victoria/dont-mention-the-war-artists-reminded-that-hitlers-no-joke-20110604-1fmdf.html#ixzz1Q8rT5Vft So that is all allowed on a "respectable" website?

    3. @Lizzio,
I have to disagree with you. If you look at the content of RedBubble (Without maturity filter), you will see that my content fit right in, and is far from "inappropriate" compared to their other stuff. The links posted by Kimba & Kriss Lee above, are good examples.
In fact, RedBubble made a big thing out of being the most liberal site, in terms of what you can publish there. That's why they kept their Nazi T-Shirts for so long, even though they lost a LOT of customers on that account.

  32. I was going to buy a t-shirt from Redbubble but then I discovered this review and a lot of others on Redbubble's disloyalty to the artists of the artworks they sell and I shall not buy from these guys. As a musician, I understand how you feel about people taking your intellectual property and toy with them, even make them commercially available without your consent. Youtube is a prime example, not the website but the uploader. I was very excited when I found out about redbubble because it was the only website I knew that had so many funny t-shirt but now I'm going to pass. Actually, if you can give me a few sites that sell high quality printed t-shirt that would be great. I've seen spreadshirt in the comments so I shall try it out, but more is better to choose from.

  41. This article is very informative, as well as some of the comments. Thank you. I see Zazzle mentioned and I'd like to say something about them. I have a store on Zazzle but I don’t have anything positive to say about Zazzle. They don’t care about the shopowners at all, and I say that based on the disrespectful way they treat the shopowners. If one is syrupy and gushes over the company and the moderator (eric matson) on the forum, then things are fine. But that eric matson should not be the moderator of anything because he doesn't possess communications skills necessary for dealing with people. The best way to describe him is patronizing. Zazzle likes people who eat their rear. Even though I have thousands of individually created products in my store, I’ve sold very little, or at least that they’ve told me about. Some shopowners have wondered whether they are making sales but are not being told about the sale so that the company can keep all the money just like some affiliate marketing firms dishonestly do to their affiliates. Zazzle made major changes at the beginning of June 2013 and many people’s sales fell sharply/tanked. But in Zazzle’s omnipotent mind they know best and can do no wrong. I have found them to be one of the most incompetent companies I’ve had the misfortune of dealing with. It's as if they are figuring things out as they go along and making remedial mistakes. Just their new website alone has turned some shopowners off from making any more products because the website is harsh on the eyes. It jumps up and down when trying to work on it, tools are in different places one day and another day they've been moved again. Then there's the invisible fonts, invisible boxes which are supposed to checked (even though you can’t see the box to check it), it's Java-heavy and frankly the site is a mess. On their forum, the syrupy people who gush over the company are about all that are left on the forum and they troll in favor of any and all changes and for the company. The product quality seems to have gone downhill also. There are a lot more complaints about quality, especially in mugs and t-shirts. I’ve spent years working on my store. Something happened in the past month which completely turned me off from the company, so I'm no longer working on my store. It disgusts me to think about the thousands of hours my partner and I spent working on our store only to have it just sit. Then when I complain about lack of sales and about the new website, I’m reprimanded and treated like a child by this eric guy that I mentioned earlier (one of the moderators). They only want cheerleading and pro-Zazzle words on their forum otherwise one can be banned. They don’t want to hear the reality. I sense that people are leaving Zazzle "in droves." At this point, I don’t recommend anyone buying anything from Zazzle or starting a store there because it's only going to get worse and it’s been going down hill all year. I will not be surprised if the company is sold, or taken over or goes out of business entirely. And when and if that happens, they deserve it.

    1. Wow, I did not know that about Zazzle! Well, I know about the extremely slow sales, cause my shop there only sold 10% of what the exact same designs are selling at SpreadShirt. Actually, I don't even know if that shop is still open. I haven't received a check from them in forever!
I'm really sorry to hear about all the work you put into your shop, realizing the place is terrible. :/ ..Trust me I know how that feels like. It took SO much time building the RedBubble shop that disappeared into thin air.

I can warmly recommend SpreadShrit. That have really been great, and there has been no problems with payments or bad support. I know, it's very time consuming to start over, but if you start putting up a few designs a day, all of a sudden it's all there. And you will be encouraged when you see your sales. :)

    4. I've only made a few things on Zazzle, but find their prices utterly ridiculous. I made a funny deck of cards and put them up for auction on Ebay. A guy in Canada ordered them, so I went to Zazzle to have them made and shipped. Keep in mind I live in the U.S not far from the border. So, imagine my surpirse when a single deck of cards ended up costing $32 due to $20 shipping charges. Man did I eat that one. Talk about losing money. I was ticked off. ALL their stuff is WAY over-priced. Spreadshirt is the same way. Their prices are way too high as well. I have about 100 t-shirts there and haven't sold even one. You can try artscow if you like. I design playing cards there. They have quite a few products as well, BUT they are out of China which i didn't know till I got my first deck of cards. I don't care personally, but you should know just in case it bothers you.

  43. FYI copyright info, things from the 80's wouldn't have expired.

Copyright can expire. In the U.S., the duration is lifetime plus 70 years.

“Copyright in a work created on or after January 1, 1978, subsists from its creation and, except as provided by the following subsections, endures for a term consisting of the life of the author and 70 years after the author’s death.
    — 17 USC §302 (a)

As used in this section, the term ‘copyright management information’ means any of the following information conveyed in connection with copies of a work or displays of a work, including in digital form
    (2) The name of, and other identifying information about, the author of a work or

    (3) The name of, and other identifying information about, the copyright owner of the work, including the information set forth in a notice of copyright.
    Removing or altering CMI

Fines for illegal CMI removal or alteration range from $2,500 to $25,000, plus attorneys’ fees and damages.
    What is copyright infringement?

“As a general matter, copyright infringement occurs when a copyrighted work is reproduced, distributed, performed, publicly displayed, or made into a derivative work without the permission of the copyright owner.”
    — U.S. Copyright Office, FAQ

The Wonder woman image is clearly marked copyrighted and also signed on deviant art. Copyright lawsuits allow for attorneys fess to be a part of the judgement. Something to consider.

  51. Hi Tore,
I discovered RedBubble a couple days ago while looking for a cool Porter Robinson poster. I was amazed when I discovered I could upload my own artwork so everyone could wear it / use it on a T-shirt or a case or whatever.

I was working today on my custom Porter Robinson fanmade poster when I started wondering about how these people do the monetizing thing.

After 3 or 4 Google pages full of nonsense I found this blog and read the whole article + most comments

After that I have decided to upload my poster and other fanmade ones in the future, but I'm not uploading stuff from a brand I was working on (people say it's got true potential ;) ). So thank you so much for this useful info. It's good to know before uploading lots of artwork.

By the way, the mobile version of the site is IMPOSSIBLE to read because it displays the black text right on that dark bokeh lights background, so I recommend you to change the wallpaper, or the theme or whatever.

    Thanks again

    1. I had wondered that myself. Especially since a local bricks and mortar art gallery owner was recently caught doing exactly that. The thing is though, that as soon as the people buying the prints showed their new prints off online, and even contacted the artists to tell them how happy they were with their new prints of course the artists were immediately clued in, because they had no knowledge (or payment!) of those sales.
Redbubble used some of my art for a giveaway they did about 18 months ago (they made sticker packs as part of some promotion). They paid me for those 20 or so stickers, even though they could have easily gotten away with just printing them and not saying anything. I don't think they could print people's work without the wider community knowing about it almost immediately. I'm pretty sure the contract says they can use images for promotion of the site (eg featuring them on the found page, on their blog or whatever). But it's absolutely illegal here in Australia to do what you're describing and the company is just now going public (Stock exchange), why would they risk litigation just for the 20% artist commission on some sales?

  60. Hello Tore,

First off, Kudos!!! for your ethics and for not letting some scumbags get away with murder per say. I wish other artists can take charge and value more their work.

I’m quite a successful artist myself and I was online just browsing Art on Marketplaces. I found this RedBubble Website by accident, and my first thought was “ Wow!!! what a Scammer Genius is whoever came out with the idea to built a social media site to rip off artist selling their work around the World “.

RB does not have any respect for he artists community or appreciation for the Art itself. Personally, it took me years to have a business mind to understand that it’s not only about making beautiful art, but to learn and understand Commerce, The RB contract agreement was made by Pontius Pilate. If you do the math, do you people really think these websites are gonna let you make more money than them while they are providing their so called services ?. They probably gonna end up recycling and selling the artist’s work behind their back in some foreign countries. It’s hard to keep track of the sells after the artwork has been exposed worldwide.

To me RB is a shady business and there is not need for these type of scam sites. The best way for people to protect their work is to learn to “Do it Yourself “. There are so many tutorials online to learn how to built a websites and use the advantage of social media for commerce.

  64. There is definitely something shady going on at RedBubble. I recently had an artwork of a Marvel character taken down and the reason given was you don't have the right to that character. Okay, that makes sense, my bad; only why are there hundreds of pages on RedBubble of other Marvel fanart, some of which have been up for years? When I sent an email asking for clarification on that point, all I got was what looked like an automated response not even signed by an actual human that just repeated their original reason for taking down my artwork and didn't address my actual question at all. They then followed that up with an email asking me to rate their customer service. I said it was terrible because they hadn't answered my question, and then I sent them another email where I told them that if they're going to enforce their copyright infringement policy they need to enforce it on everyone, not just randomly here and there, and asking them again to please clarify (although I was starting to be pretty clear on it). I got no response. I can only assume from it all that RedBubble had no good answer, that they are perfectly content to make money off illegal fanart, and that they do very little themselves to police it, probably just relying on visitors to the site to hit the 'report infringement' button. If that isn't a shady and dishonest business, I don't know what is. I have no desire to have any further dealings with a company which has such a blatant double-standard and refuses to communicate with you, and I will certainly never recommend them to anyone again. They don't deserve it.

    1. Gwenyth B, the same thing has happened to me MULTIPLE times. Usually if I upload something and it violates the rights, I understand why. Because I don't own the character, just like you said, and I get that! But again like you said there are plenty of other designs up that violate as well and RB does nothing to get rid of those! Usually my designs would get taken down within 3 days of me posting them. Recently I had two designs up that were selling fairly well. I sold about 5 of each of them in a single month. So after making money on them, and me believing that they were okay to post, redbubble removed them! And that's why I got angry! Because I had been making virtually no money on my account until I posted those two works! And it was not fair, one of my posts was a movie poster, yet I changed it up, and made it quite different from the original. RB still took it down, even though other people have up the same movie poster with absolutely no change to the picture. They just found the picture on google and uploaded to redbubble. It's absolutely ridiculous.

While I agree with the people saying copywrite material is all over Redbubble and even on their specials and frint oage advertisements are covered in copywrite characters and theyre selling everyday while others get account deleted for it, I still didn't use anything copywrite just in case I was an unlucky one. I had nothing even close to a real character or trademark and mine was still deleted and all my sales unpaid. I hope people pay more attention to these redbubble is a scam sites because it's 100% true. They sold my works for about 2 weeks after mine closed as well. They're gone now. I just want my money. Sooner or later somebody with a decent lawyer is going to make a nice lawsuit out of stealing people's money, that part isn't covered in their agreement.

  80. They also don't care about people posting other people's art. There is no option to report art theft under the contact us page if you stumble across someone selling others' art (or even worse your own). It's atrocious. I sent a request about a profile that I believed to be selling stolen art and haven't gotten a response. The profile is still up so I don't know if they give a damn.

  81. Holy Crabcakes!!! I signed up with Redbubble back in 2008 when I was just starting to sell online, I knew nothing about these types of sites, so as a tester, I uploaded 5 of my painting images. I put one on sale and left the others to sit. Over the next year or so, I would visit the site just to look at my work on line as there was no activity, so after awhile, I stopped visiting and did not hear anything from them. Well, today, while I was monitoring my web presence, I ran across Redbubble and saw that there have been many sales, at least 150 raving customer purchase feedback comments, then I got excited with anticipation of a few $'s sitting around with my name on them. I looked at my account and saw that there is no history of any purchases nor $'s earned or paid to me. Hum... got pretty pisced off and I see there is no actual direct email contact, so I found this site and now I see I have a fight on my hands. So, if anyone is in for a joint 'Class action suit because of copy right infringment and or being basically ripped off just communicate with me and we can get this monster going!!! grrr....

    1. Every Redbubble Unisex T-Shirt has about 150 reviews... the reviews are generic purchases, not for each shirt. Currently all my shirts show 150 reviews. You need to look at your sales history under account setting to see how many actually sales you have made.

  83. Redbubble has banned my account and blocked me from making new accounts (at least from my IP/computer or anything with a similar name/email/etc. I was making about $250-$500 a month, my designs all taken down but then similar designs appeared (worse than mine) but still basically the same design. Tried to contact to resolve what I did that got me suspended, no response by Redbubble at all.

  84. Before uploading your work to any site, first protect your image at sites like https://myows.com it's free for your first 100 images and they will help you to take them down and file a lawsuit if anyone is misusing your work.
